From September 23 to 25, 2025, SPRINT participated in FACHPACK 2025, one of Europe’s leading trade fairs for packaging, processing, and technology, held in Nuremberg, Germany.

Since its launch in 1979 with just 80 exhibitors, FACHPACK has grown into a central hub for the European packaging industry, attracting more than 1,500 exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors each year. The exhibition serves as an essential platform for companies across the entire packaging value chain to exchange ideas, explore innovations, and discover new business opportunities.

This year’s theme, “Transition in Packaging–Towards a Sustainable and Efficient Future,” focused on sustainability, circular economy, and digital transformation. Exhibitors presented cutting-edge solutions in mono-material packaging, paper-based alternatives, and automation technologies, reflecting the industry’s shared commitment to environmental responsibility and innovation.

Key Trends and Highlights

1. Sustainability and Circular Economy

Sustainability was the core theme of FACHPACK 2025. Many exhibitors showcased recyclable and reusable packaging solutions, as well as innovations aligned with the new European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

2. Mono-materials and Paperization

A clear trend emerged toward mono-material solutions (such as PP and PE) for flexible packaging, ensuring high recyclability without compromising functionality. Meanwhile, “paperization” – the adoption of paper-based and hybrid paper-barrier materials–has become a major trend, offering sustainable alternatives to traditional plastics.

3. Automation and Digitalization

Automation and smart packaging technologies were also key focuses. Exhibitors introduced AI-driven safety tools, autonomous truck loading systems, and software for optimizing palletizing and logistics, helping manufacturers reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.

4. Innovation and Networking

FACHPACK 2025 also featured the Newcomer Pavilion, where startups presented lightweight and compostable packaging solutions. Networking events such as the FuturePack Summit and WOMEN4PACKAGING created valuable opportunities for professionals to exchange insights and establish partnerships.

During the exhibition, SPRINT showcased its innovative flexible intermediate bulk container (FIBC) solutions, which drew significant attention from European buyers and partners. Our team engaged in fruitful discussions with both new and existing clients, exploring opportunities for cooperation in sustainable packaging materials and customized solutions.
